It has been established through research that High Quality Cassava Flour can be used in the production of adhesive.

Adhesives are substances that are capable of holding materials together either by chemical or mechanical attraction. Adhesives may be referred to as glues or pastes, which are available either as ready-for use liquids or as dry powders or gums.

This feasibility report is to examine the financial viability or otherwise of producing adhesive in Nigeria using cassava flour as basic raw material.

The demand for adhesive in Nigeria is high. With a population of over 165 million people and an estimated national population growth rate of 5.7% per annum ,an average economic growth rate of 3.5% per annum in the past five {5} years, Nigeria has a large market for adhesive.

Different types of adhesives can be formulated to meet the requirement of different end users. This makes the business very versatile. It therefore, implies that a producer can decide to specialize in producing a particular type of adhesive or may produce different types based on demand to meet the needs of different end users.

Large percentage of the nation’s adhesive need is met through importation whereas domestic production accounted for only few percentage of the total supply. It is estimated that the nation’s demand for various forms of adhesives is in excess of 350, 000 metric tonnes per annum.
